What will I need to have to make the most of my online conference experience

We will be using Slack to handle all the back channel communication on the day. Before the conference happens, you will receive an email invitation to a private slack group with all of the other attendees.

It's probably a good idea to have your Slack account all set up and ready to go before the conference starts.

If you have access to good headphones, computer screen and a comfortable chair, then that would help you enjoy the experience even more. We accept that it can be hard to sit and focus on a computer screen for long periods of time.

Lastly, and most importantly, a good reliable internet connect is strongly recommended to ensure you maintain connectivity during the events.

I'm having technical problems with my computer, can you assist me?

Due to the scale of Design Politics, we are only responsible for technical delivery of the conference online.

If you are having computer difficulties, we are not able to provide support.

If you are experiencing what you feel to be performance issues (such as the stream not working) we recommend you use the latest version of Chrome or Safari, restart your router and/or restart your computer.

If you are having issues that you believe are outside of those issues, and relate to the Design Politics experience, please get in touch with the Design Politics Team

Online safety and open communication

Whilst we will do our best to vet all people attending our conference, we can never be 100% on the authenticity of people. Only interact with people that you are comfortable with.

Members of Design Politics Team will never ask you for items of personal information or banking details. If you feel you might be communicating with someone who is being insincere, please get in touch with our team as soon as possible.
The internet is an incredible system, but like anything, there are things we all should be aware of.
